Telemarketers - an inevitable part of life today and the bane of every household! Thank goodness someone has seen the funny side of it all and put it to film! Written by J D Rebel and well known Author C A Milson (The Chosen), this very clever youtube Mockumentary series gives us a glimpse into the industry of telemarketing and the people who will do whatever it takes to close the deal. Filmed in Queensland and utilising local talent, The Telemarketers contains all the characters we love to hate - the sleezy boss, the manipulative secretary and telemarketers we just want to reach through the screen and throttle - and nicely combines them with the "nice guys come last" characters that you can't help but feel sorry for. It all goes together to create compelling viewing, even if it is just to see justice ocassionally served!
In the vein of the hugely popular cult TV series, The Office, this film is bound to resonate with audiences across the globe and will no doubt quickly accumulate it's own cult following. The trailer has already received positive reviews and full scale filming is scheduled for early 2011. This is definitely worth keeping an eye on, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was picked up by a savvy television station by season 2.
